Dunkirk (The Film)
This is my second blog post and I thought I'd make it about the film I went to see last night, Dunkirk.
I believe Christopher Nolan did an amazing job with this film, from the actors, to the filming and the atmosphere that's created.
Of course the love of Harry Styles drove me to want to see this film as soon as it came out, and I'm extremely glad I did. It didn't shock me that he'd be a good actor, he was believable and charming (except when he shouted at Aneurin Barnard, his innocent face broke my heart a lil' bit.)
There was other amazing actors to, such as Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Fionn Whitehead. But every actor in the film is incredible, the emotion and the turmoil of suffering in war is presented so well, it's so well in fact that I was so close to crying.
Another reason for me wanting to see this film is that my granddad was fighting in Dunkirk, he stood on the beaches and suffered like everyone else. Although, he was lucky and survived, he'd never talk about Dunkirk, and the film gave me a good idea as to why. Every man that fought was brave, and although death is guaranteed in a war, it's still heartbreaking watching men loosing their lives.
War can be avoided, that's what I believe anyway. Some people may disagree and think there is a necessity for war, but "If we don't end war, war will end us" - H G Wells, and that's a quote I agree with.
I'd definitely recommend this film, for someone like me who loves a good chick flick and Harry Potter this was a different kinda film, but it was so worth it!
